Tell us about what your ordinary day looks like.
I work daily as a software engineer - I think writing software also feels like putting together a very complex puzzle. Frustrating and hard at times, still satisfying once you get it done. I also don't spend a day without a walk outside. I love the feeling of the wind and the sun on my skin, noticing all the small things around me - how the light hits the leaves, smell of the freshly cut grass, exchanging small acts of kindness with strangers. This is incredibly inspiring for me!

How did you get into the world of puzzling?
I still remember my first “real” puzzle I had as a small kid - a 200 piece Ravensburger with a photo of horses on a sunflower field. I was hooked! Must have done it hundreds of times.. I've been puzzling ever since. :)

What makes you keep puzzling & how often do you puzzle?
I think that puzzling just tickles my brain in all the right places with the pattern and shape recognition. Once I start a puzzle, I find it incredibly hard to stop.. just one more piece, until its done. I usually have time for 1 or 2 such long puzzling sessions per week.

What is your favorite type of puzzle?
1000 pieces is a sweet spot. Collages and illustrations are my favourite.

During puzzling sessions, do you listen to anything or puzzle in silence?
I love listening to vinyl records while puzzling. As a bonus, since one record only plays for around 15-20 minutes, it also pushes me to get up and stretch every so often.

If you were to describe what puzzling means to you, what would it be?
Puzzling is truly one of my most enjoyable activities in my life, bringing a sense of calm, focus and clarity in this busy and ever-changing world.

Tell us about your other interests & joys.
I have a very much creative side to me, which I love to express in painting and interior design. I create large paintings for hanging on the walls, paint incredibly detailed miniatures for D&D, and everything in between. And completely opposing to this - I also have an analytical side which loves analyzing numbers, creating excel sheets, investing and reading financial news. Go figure..

Do you have anything you want to share?
We can find beauty and inspiration in the smallest and strangest things. Walk, travel, read books, visit museums, and puzzle! :)
