Tell us about what your ordinary day looks like.
A typical day for me involves going to all my classes at college. I’m a forensic science student so I have a lot of school work to do. But I like to squeeze in a puzzle or two whenever I can.
How did you get into the world of puzzling?
One particular memory I have of puzzling was probably when I was about 4 or 5 years old, I had this alphabet animal puzzle. Each piece was shaped like an animal, one for each letter (I.e. A-alligator, B-bear, C-cat). I always loved putting that together and as I got older my love for puzzles has only grown.
What makes you keep puzzling & how often do you puzzle?
I think the satisfaction of figuring out how the pieces fit together and watching the picture take shape is the main force behind my puzzling. I like to puzzle as often as I can whether that’s doing a puzzle over a few days or just sitting down and doing it in one sitting.
What is your favorite type of puzzle?
I like 1000 piece puzzles, usually with bright colors or an intricate design. I also like when the pieces have fun shapes as opposed to the regular jigsaw cut.
During puzzling sessions, do you listen to anything or puzzle in silence?
I typically listen to an audiobook (anything by Agatha Christie or V.E. Schwab), though occasionally I’ll throw on a true crime podcast like Crime Junkie.
If you were to describe what puzzling means to you, what would it be?
Puzzling is solving a small mystery that fits on your table.
Tell us about your other interests & joys.
I also like reading, swimming, baking, and going on walks.
Do you have anything you want to share?
One last thing to share is that I would just encourage everyone to be more kind. There’s a lot of hate going around right now and I feel that the world would be a much better place if everyone was more accepting and kind to one another.
