I smoke and puzzle
What's your name?
Lili
Where are you based?
Oakland, CA
Tell us about what your ordinary day looks like.
I work for a nonprofit in San Francisco doing criminal justice work. When I'm not working you can find me at the beach with my dog, at a boozy brunch with the girls, playing music, or most likely - puzzling and engaging in recreational escapism.
How did you get into the world of puzzling?
I've been puzzling for years and can't really remember how it started. But I do remember the feeling of satisfaction when completing a difficult puzzle as appealing to me.
What makes you keep puzzling & how often do you puzzle?
I puzzle almost every day. I think the ever growing list of puzzles I want to do and the never ending cycle of puzzles coming and going really fits my sometimes chaotic and impulsive lifestyle.
What is your favorite type of puzzle?
I like a one sitting 300-500 piece puzzle but definitely need to mix in some spicy 1000s and 1500s. As a content creator I prefer matte finish and no reflective glare, and prefer a tight fit that allows moving sections around.
During puzzling sessions, do you listen to anything or puzzle in silence?
It's usually between cartoons and true crime podcasts.
If you were to describe what puzzling means to you, what would it be?
It's both a way to relax, meditate, escape, as well as a tool to keep me sharp and observant.
Tell us about your other interests & joys.
Other than puzzling I love my dog, the beach, my piano, gardening (wink), and fashion.
