Endless Puzzles

What's your name?
Angel aka endless.puzzles

Where are you based?
Buhl, ID, USA - I grew up in Oregon and have lived all over the West Coast.

Tell us about what your ordinary day looks like.
Even though I'm a stay-at-home mom, my day starts at 6 am, thanks to my two little dogs and my husband's alarm clock. But I like it this way, it gives me a few hours before my teen is awake and ready for his online schooling. Like most moms, my days are spent dealing with laundry, schoolwork, budgets, meals and of course messes. If I only had a nickle for each time I've uttered the phrase, "why is this wet"? Lol. But I love it.

How did you get into the world of puzzling?
I started with puzzles as a very young child. I've always loved puzzles, legos, brain teasers and games. In my early teens I started doing jigsaw puzzles regularly when my father was going through cancer treatments. The oncology department always made jigsaw puzzles and a table available in the waiting room. I really appreciated that. After he passed I stopped puzzling for awhile, but picked it up again in my 20s. I paused on puzzles again when my son was born (he's was a tornado of a child), and started back around 2016. It's so great how popular it is now, we have more access than ever to so many great puzzles!

What makes you keep puzzling & how often do you puzzle?
I puzzle daily. I have to be doing something with my hands. I used to knit or crochet while I'd unwind and watch tv, but my wrists don't enjoy that activity anymore, so I had to give it up. Puzzling allows me to unwind, quiet my brain and keep my fingers occupied, it's perfect!

What is your favorite type of puzzles?
A few things go into being one my favorite puzzles. First and foremost, quality. I love to puzzle without looking at the picture, so I need the pieces to fit together good enough that I can move the sections around. The next thing that makes me love a puzzle is the subject matter, I especially love puzzles that tie in to other parts of my life. A perfect example of this is the puzzle Gone Coastal. I collect sneakers (primarily Nike), so a well made, beautiful puzzle of sneakers is my idea of perfection! There's also categories of puzzles I always really enjoy too, like bookshelf puzzles or teen bedroom puzzles.

During puzzling sessions, do you listen to anything or puzzle in silence?
I always have something on while puzzling. And it's going to be related to one of two things: reality TV or true crime (actual trials or YouTubers telling the stories).

If you were to describe what puzzling means to you, what would it be?
Puzzling means good mental health to me. Not just in the short term, but also helping to keep my brain as sharp as possible for as long as possible.

Tell us about your other interests & joys.
I have too many hobbies and not enough time. I enjoy photography, especially of the instant variety. I have a few aquariums with freshwater fish and plants (live ofc). I still enjoy video games, though I spend far less time doing that than I used to. I guess this is where I could add that I just so happen to have two of the best dogs in the world: Emmy & Sir, they bring me (& my family) the most joy possible.

Do you have anything you want to share?
Know thyself, than either accept it or change it. Once you're ok with who you are, life will be a little smoother.
