Tell us about what your ordinary day looks like.
My husband and I work from home, so we are each in our offices throughout the day but meet in the kitchen often to grab coffee and puzzle for a few! There's always a puzzle out for us to work on. After dinner and on the weekends, I puzzle a lot more if I’m not at the beach, spending time with friends, or traveling.
How did you get into the world of puzzling?
On January 2, 2023 I was shopping for after Christmas deals and a beautiful Eurographics puzzle caught my eye. It was a cozy winter scene with a log cabin, snow-capped mountains, and a frozen lake. I thought doing a puzzle would be a good winter activity to try with my husband, so I bought it for $3. After completing that first 1000-piece puzzle, we were hooked! I started taking photos and videos of each puzzle we did. My sweet niece told me I should start an Instagram page to document my puzzles, and that is how I got connected to this wonderful #puzzlegram community!
What makes you keep puzzling & how often do you puzzle?
I puzzle a little bit every single day! It keeps my mind sharp, and it’s so relaxing! I don’t like rushing through a puzzle or speed puzzling, though. I’d rather go slow and enjoy it. I love the sense of accomplishment when I finish a puzzle…but I do get a little sad when I have to tear it apart!
What is your favorite type of puzzles?
A year ago I would have said any puzzle from any brand! Now that I have tried so many new brands that I never even knew existed, I have come to enjoy thick, good-quality, random cut pieces the most. I enjoy doing mini puzzles, vintage puzzles, wooden, 100-1500 piece counts, etc...
During puzzling sessions, do you listen to anything or puzzle in silence?
I normally puzzle in silence, but when my husband and I puzzle together, we always have music on :)
If you were to describe what puzzling means to you, what would it be?
Puzzling=Calming
Tell us about your other interests & joys.
I enjoy traveling, going to the beach, thrifting for puzzles, baking, cooking, embroidery, and spending time with family and my 15 year old cat, Allie!
