Puzzle Diary

What's your name?
Natasha

Where are you based?
Wollongong, Australia

Tell us about what your ordinary day looks like.
I live with my husband and son. A typical day starts off with either a walk, yoga, aerobics or weights. I then work, where I assess documents and problem solve, a bit like puzzling! After work, if I'm lucky I puzzle!! Most nights I puzzle after dinner. Before bed I meditate to relax. Then I do it all over again!

How did you get into the world of puzzling?
I have been a puzzler since my late teens, but during covid I discovered my puzzling obsession and started puzzling daily. With so many new brands featuring beautiful designs and great quality pieces, my addiction grew and so did my collection.

What makes you keep puzzling & how often do you puzzle?
I love creating beautiful images. Puzzles teach us a lot of life skills including patience, perseverance, problem solving, attention to detail, the ability to overcome challenges and to have fun. I puzzle daily, it's very rare I don't puzzle. It may only be an hours worth but it's my special time!

What is your favorite type of puzzles?
Any puzzle that makes me smile, usually adorable animals, vibrant colours, pastel colours, anything pretty and cute. I love variety and I puzzle all sorts of puzzles from minis to 2000 pieces. Wooden puzzles and round puzzles are lots of fun, too. I have lots of favourite brands including SOONNESS. I love the cute animals and gradient puzzles by Soon Cho.

During puzzling sessions, do you listen to anything or puzzle in silence?
It depends- sometimes music or sometimes TV, but they usually just become background noise as I become engrossed in the puzzle.

If you were to describe what puzzling means to you, what would it be?
Happiness and joy! I love sharing puzzling joy and have started numerous travelling puzzles to spread the puzzling love.

Tell us about your other interests & joys.
Besides puzzling I love walking at the beach, whale or dolphin watching and bush walking.

Do you have anything you want to share?
Thanks so much for asking me to be interviewed, it's an honour and has been lots of fun discussing my love of puzzling.
