Tell us about what your ordinary day looks like.
My day is focused on work. I'm an energy engineer, so I have to be focused at work all the time. I love my job, and I've been doing it for 20 years. After work I need to rest, I often walk to clear my mind.
How did you get into the world of puzzling?
I've been doing puzzles since childhood, but I kind of forgot about them as an adult. I got back into them three years ago. I was overwhelmed by work and needed a quiet hobby to take my mind off things for a while. I started doing more and more, and now I can't imagine a table without puzzle pieces.
What makes you keep puzzling & how often do you puzzle?
I still do puzzles because they give me incredible peace. Plus, thanks to them, I've met wonderful people – the world of puzzle solvers is very friendly, free from envy and unfair competition. Staram się codziennie ułożyć choćby kilka elementów. A poza tym jeżdżę na spotkania i konkursy puzzlowe - jest ich coraz więcej w Polsce, co mnie bardzo cieszy.
What is your favorite type of puzzle?
My favorite puzzle style is, hmm... unrealistic drawings. Fantasy creatures, places, and of course cats (those can be quite real. Due to lack of space, I don't put together puzzles larger than 1000 pieces and I love patterns with odd shapes.
During puzzling sessions, do you listen to anything or puzzle in silence?
While I'm doing the puzzle, I keep the TV on and watch TV shows I've seen several times. This way, the movie doesn't distract me from the puzzle.
If you were to describe what puzzling means to you, what would it be?
A head freed from restless thoughts.
Tell us about your other interests & joys.
Even though I'd love to be solving puzzles 24/7, I love reading books (fantasy, romance, Asian literature, which has recently become very popular in my country) and playing board games. The days are definitely too short :)
Do you have anything you want to share?
I've been searching for my holy grail puzzle for a long time, and I finally found it! It's a Soonness puzzle, of course. The quality of the pieces and the packaging are amazing, and the designs are wonderful. I hope I'll be able to complete many more of them.
