Tell us about what your ordinary day looks like.
I am a Senior Vice President of Tax at a company in the real estate sector. I also have two big, lovable dogs and two amazing teenagers. Life is busy!
How did you get into the world of puzzling?
I have been puzzling since I was a little. I was a quiet kid always looking for something fun to do by myself. Over the years the time spent on puzzles has waxed and waned but the last few years I have been able to devote more time to the hobby.
What makes you keep puzzling & how often do you puzzle?
I puzzle on most days. I work a demanding job so puzzling helps me settle my mind at night, even if it is only for a short time. A few years ago I found speed puzzling, which also fuels my competitive side. My teenage son speed puzzles with me at many events so it has also brought us closer together.
What is your favorite type of puzzles?
I like a lot of different styles and pick based on what I want to do in the moment. Sometimes I want a light and fun puzzle, sometimes a challenging and moody puzzle. If I had to choose though, I would say I gravitate towards 1000 pcs with original artwork. Piece shape does not matter to me but quality is very important.
During puzzling sessions, do you listen to anything or puzzle in silence?
If I am puzzling during the day, I am listening to music and singing while I puzzle. At night, I turn on a light hearted show or one I have seen many times, like Schitt's Creek, since most of my attention is on the puzzle.
If you were to describe what puzzling means to you, what would it be?
Puzzling means connecting with artists. I may not be able to own a lot of original artwork but I can admire it in detail while doing a puzzle. It also means community to me. I have made many amazing puzzle friends through swaps, speed puzzling, and Facebook groups.

I also enjoy music, reading and travel. I am heading to Ireland this summer and hope to find some fun puzzles while visiting!
Do you have anything you want to share?
Puzzling is for everyone and there is no right or wrong way to puzzle. Just have fun with it!
