Les puzzles de delph

What's your name?
Delphine

Where are you based?
Chantilly, north of France

Tell us about what your ordinary day looks like.
I start my day late, because I work afternoon and early evening. During these two hours before work, I cook. Then, after work at the airport security, I puzzle or play video games until mid night. I'm a nocturnal animal :)

How did you get into the world of puzzling?
The beginning of this story is a bit sad - it was the 2nd lockdown in France in November 2020, my boss put me in unemployment, and I got rejected by the one I loved for months. I needed absolutely something to put my brain in a "peace mode" and puzzle worked well. I never stopped puzzling since then. The story ends wonderfully: this guy came back, said "sorry I'm wrong", and today we live together.

What makes you keep puzzling & how often do you puzzle?
It's an absolute balm for my brain, puzzle gives me so much peace, I feel so good doing it! And for 3 years I discovered a whole community of puzzling and this is going so great! I puzzle 3 to 4 times a week, a few hours each time.

What is your favorite type of puzzle?
Colourful puzzles, and those with ocean theme. 1000 to 3000pcs!

During puzzling sessions, do you listen to anything or puzzle in silence?
I listen to audiobooks, in french as well as english ones. It's fascinating, puzzling don't use the same brain cells as those to understand a foreign language!

If you were to describe what puzzling means to you, what would it be?
Puzzling is a very important part of me, I love sharing and talking about it, it's part of balancing my life.

Tell us about your other interests & joys.
I'm a plant addict, I'm very proud of my monstrous Monstera Deliciosa and its giant leaves! I love my two cats, I enjoy playing chill and adventure video games, and like cosy stickers too.

Do you have anything you want to share?
Don't be afraid to do these 2 things in puzzle:
- Try bigger puzzles like 2000 or 3000 pieces, it's awesome too.
- Try puzzling without looking at the picture.
